GO NORTH is pleased to announce the opening of "Skin Trade," Christopher Albert’s first solo show with the gallery. His work will be on exhibit from June 2 through July 1, 2007. A reception for the artist will be held on Saturday, June 2, from 6 to 9 pm.

Christopher Albert’s new paintings use images from pornographic magazines as the underlying structure for the formal elements of his work. Painting on top of these graphic sexual images, he transforms them into a sensual blend of colors, forms, textures and lines. Often, Albert leaves behind small traces of the original source material, including the text associated with the acts depicted. Literally and metaphorically, Albert's work “trades” the visual stimuli associated with pornography for the visual pleasures of painting.

Gallery hours: 12 to 6 pm, Friday through Sunday.
